About Us

We are a full service provider of eyecare and eyewear. Dr. Blaney treats patients of all ages for a variety of conditions and diseases. He also does routine eye exams for glasses and contact lenses of all types. We have all the modern and high tech equipment to manage glaucoma and currently see hundreds of glaucoma patients annually. Dr. Blaney also screens diabetic patients for diabetic related eye disease and sends reports to the primary care physician.
 
The eyeglass frame selection at Blaney Vision is exceptional featuring frames from Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, and many other top designers. We also offer thin and light lenses to accentuate vision and style. Our optical staff has over forty years of combined experience to assist in problem solving.

We accept most insurances including Medicare, Todays Options, Highmark, Blue Cross, VBA,VSP, NVA, Optichoice, Davis Vision and many more. We also offer discount plans through certain employers such as Corry Memorial Hospital.  Please contact us to see if you employer is on our list.

Meet Our Staff

Dr. Blaney is a native of Kittanning, Pennsylvania. He is a 1984 graduate of Kittanning Area High School. He is a 1988 graduate of Indiana University of PA with a B.S. in environmental science, and he graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1992 with a doctorate degree. He has received intense training in ocular disease and treatment form the Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City, and the Portland, Vancouver, and Washington V.A. hospitals. He is currently licensed in the states of New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

Dr. Blaney believes strongly in treating patients in a caring and professional manner. He treats hundreds of glaucoma patients annually as well as monitoring diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration and others. Blaney Vision has all the latest instruments for treating and diagnosing these conditions.

His personal interests involve spending time with his wife and four children, fly fishing and golf. He belongs to the United Methodist Church of Warren, Trout Unlimited, and the Elks Club.

Rene TeCulver is an optician with a degree in opthalmic dispensing. She has 27 years of experience in optics and lens processing. She manages the Blaney Vision Optical dispensary. She resides in Clymer, NY and is active in her church and community with her husband and two children.

Teri Volk is the office manager. She is involved with fitting eyeglasses as well as billing and insurance issues. She has been with Dr. Blaney for 11 years and has 25 years of experience in the opthalmic industry. She resides in Corry with her husband and three children. She is involved in both academic and athletic aspects in the Corry School district.

Faith Sutherland is an opthalmic technician involved directly with patient care. She has 13 years experience in the opthalmic field and performs perimetry, pachymetry, retinal photos, and visual testing. She resides in Spartansburg with her husband and two children. She is active in the local PTA and her church.
